Our charity work
Each year, around the 11th of November --Remembrance Day--our Club sells poppies for The Royal British Legion, supporting the financial and emotional wellbeing of British Armed Forces members past and present and their families.
While famously known as the national Custodian of Remembrance for the World Wars and its emblem the red poppy, the Legion provides vital care for veterans of all conflicts since 1921.
Beyond the Poppy Appeal, we annually select member-nominated charities to receive a donation from our club. Recent beneficiaries include:
- 2025 SPOSA CHILD a foundation started by one of our members, supporting child victims of sexual abuse in the Philippines.
- 2024 "Niet Graag Een Lege Maag" providing healthy school lunches for children in Rotterdam who would otherwise go without breakfast or lunch.
- 2023 " Arosa Rotterdam" and "Dierenambulance Rotterdam".
When possible, we also host guest speakers to share the impact of their organisation’s work with our members and hold awareness drives.
